African Mask Display
PLAY IN FULLSCREEN - CLICK AND DRAG THE MASKS TO ROTATE
This small project includes 5 mask models which were made in Blender (My modelling software choice); assembled in Unity (my project building software choice); programmed in Visual Studio (my choice of programming software) and sounds from https://freesound.org.
This took me around about 2.5hrs in total to create.
The masks were created by using a reference image which I traced around and cut out. Next, I extruded and scaled inwards to create the outside shell. Thirdly, I Inset it to create a rim and extruded and scaled one last time to make the inside. Fourthly, I assigned a photo material and edited it to make it smooth. After that, I made another material (brown) and assigned it to the rim and inside. At that moment, I exported the model to Unity where I added a script and arrows to traverse through all 5 masks.
Penultimately, I added the African drumming from Freesounds on a loop. Finally, I built it and sent it to itch.io(this website) to style it up and publish the project.
All of these apps are free.
Anyone can do this if they put enough time, work, determination and effort into it .
